Power DVD Player is a free DVD player with the basic features. This small application opens any DVD disk that we may have on our computer automatically and starts playing it. Then we can stop playing this video, pause it, go backwards to the previous/first chapter, go forwards to the next/last chapter, and increase/decrease its sound volume. We can also select whether to view the DVD video on the full screen or make the DVD menu viewed during video playback. Optionally, we can open another video file, or exit the program. The blue and grey user interface is very straightforward and user friendly, but it is not as nice as the interface of Windows Media Player. Although this program is delivered on a freeware basis, it is important to note that in order to install this utility; we must accept (or not) an agreement license with its developer that will allow third companies to send us advertisements in the form of pop-up windows. We also permit the change of our Web browser default home page (still, my Mozilla Firefox home page was not changed when I tried it); and allow the developer to gather searching statistics and browsing information from us.
